Obituary of Elsie E. Farmer

Elsie Evelyn Samus Farmer, age 103, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025.

Born on August 18, 1922, Elsie grew up on a farm in North Bergen, New York, the daughter of Henry and Bertha Kompolt Samus. She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Delmar Farmer; sisters, Dorothy Tidwell, Ruth VanDuser, and Shirley Nichols; her son, Gary Farmer; and great-grandson, Thomas Angelo.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kory Mono; granddaughter, René (Jim) Constantine; great-grandchildren, Jessica, James, and Jaqueline Constantine; nieces and nephews, Paula (Jeff) Peters, Bobbi (Larry) Speed, Debi (Dave) Thom, Doug (Jennifer) VanDuser, Scott (Carol) Nichols, Todd (Judy) Nichols, Lynn (Rob) Ehret, and Dwayne (Donna) Farmer; as well as many cherished friends who enriched her long and active life.

A graduate of the Rochester General School of Nursing in 1944, Elsie devoted her life to caring for others. She worked as a staff nurse at SUNY Brockport for 18 years and also served as a part-time night nurse for General Electric. A devout member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Brockport, Elsie lived her faith through service and community.

She enjoyed line dancing, quilting, and participating in activities at the Sweden-Clarkson Community Center. A copy of her “Life Story” is proudly displayed at the Morgan-Manning House in Brockport, a testament to her remarkable spirit and contributions. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 158 East Avenue, Hilton. Interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery in Brockport in the spring of 2026.
