Obituary of Dolores M. Miller

Dolores "Dolly" M. Miller passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband, Homer (2002). She is survived by her son, Scott (Lisa) Miller; her sister, Shirley "Peggy" Macewen; a brother; and her several nieces and nephews.

Dolores was born in 1930 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. After high school she attended and graduated from the Hazleton State Hospital School of Nursing in 1950, and passed her state board exams in 1951. As a registered nurse, she started at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Philadelphia, then continued her career in a variety of nursing positions: private duty, doctor's office, company nurse, and nursing home care. Outside of her career, she had a lifelong love of music and entertaining. Dolly enjoyed playing the piano, singing and dancing. She was very active in numerous entertainment organizations, including: The Greece Show-Offs musical theatre group, Melo-Dears/Songsters singing ensembles, and Dazzlers line dance troupe at the Greece Senior Center, and the Parma Steppers in Hilton. She was never happier than when she was performing with her friends at local nursing homes, schools, and festivals.

Her Graveside Service, following CDC guidelines, will be held Tuesday, March 30th at 1 pm at Parma Union Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
