Obituary of Sally A. Lee

Sally A. Lee

September 13, 1942 - December 4, 2021

Sally was born September 13, 1942 to her parents, Henry W. and Pauline Besaw. She graduated from General Brown High School and married her high school sweetheart James Lee on July 28, 1962.

She and James had three children, Stephen H. (Sally) Lee, Rebecca J. (Ed) Schmitz and Christina (Greg) Speer; and seven grandchildren, Michelle Lee (Jeff Sharts), Christopher Lee, AJ (Bryce) Engelhardt, Ashley Schmitz, Elizabeth Schmitz, Lucus Speer and Edward Schmitz; and a sister, Nancy Williamson.

Sally was predeceased by a brother, Henry L. Besaw and a sister, Judy L. Zonver.

Her primary career was raising children - her own and many others. She loved them all. She was always active in her church which was the Hilton Methodist Church for the last 44 years. She sewed many things (shirts, pajamas, quilts, COVID masks, etc.) and knitted many aritcles as well.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Unity ICU staff and Pastor Jennifer Green.

We are planning two identical services to celebrate Sally's life. We are doing this so anyone can celebrate with us without having to make a 3 hour trip from one location to the other.

The first service will be held at the Dexter United Methodist Church, 210 W Kirby St, Dexter, NY 13634 on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11 am. It will be followed by a luncheon at the Pillar Point Fire Hall, 11430 Middle Rd, Dexter, NY 13634.

The second will be at the Hilton United Methodist Church, 21 West Avenue in Hilton, NY on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11 am. It will be followed by a luncheon in the church dining room.

The Saturday service at the Hilton United Methodist Church will be recorded and aired on YouTube for the convenience of anyone who cannot attend either service. There will be a link available on the Hilton United Methodist Church website at humcny.org.

The family hopes you can join us.

Donations can be made in memory of Sally to the Hilton United Methodist Church, 21 West Avenue, Hilton, NY 14468.
