Obituary of Mary E. Smith

Hilton - Mary E. Smith passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Emma Keast; her husband, Kenneth Smith; her grandson, Noah Smith; and her brother, Edward Keast. She is survived by her children, Todd (Char) Smith, Gordon Smith, Mark (Ann) Smith, Robert (Monika) Smith and Eric (Joanne) Smith; her 10 grandchildren, Erica (Chris) Dobson, Jillian (Adam) Webster, Nathan (Kate) Smith, Samantha (Derek) Brado, Colin (Valerie) Smith, Mallory (Brian) Benson, Caleb (Lauren) Smith, Lucas (Alyssa) Smith, Caitlin (Thomas) Henck, Patrick Ryan; her 16 great-grandchildren, Alana, Carter, Bristol, Brayden, Olivia, Sophia, Tanner, Baylee, Skylar, Juliet, Noelle, Owen, Vance, Isabella, Lexi and Isaac.

Mary became a Registered Nurse in the early 1950's. She loved local history, was an author and the Historian for the Town of Hamlin, where she worked for 35 years. She also enjoyed doing genealogy over the years, did research for many local families and for anyone who inquired.  Her greatest love was spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.

A Graveside Service will be held in the spring at Lakeside Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
