Obituary of George Otto Eichas

Hilton - George O. Eichas passed away on September 23, 2022 at the age of 97. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Joyce in 2017. He was also predeceased by 8 of his siblings, Margaret Morrill, John Eichas, Anna Eichas, Viola Almeter, Rita Maynard, Theresa Blodgett, Jude Eichas and Jane Eichas. He is survived by his devoted sons, Gerald (Leigh) Eichas, Gregory (Cheryl) Eichas, James (June) Eichas and Richard (Anne) Eichas; his sister, Mary Eichas Gavigan; his brothers, Arthur Eichas, Robert (Maria) Eichas and Charles Eichas; his sister-in-law, Anne Eichas; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred (Celia) Gerlach; his 13 grandchildren; his 20 great-grandchildren; his nieces and nephews; and many friends.

George was a career farmer and the owner/operator of Eichas Dairy Farm in Hilton. He worked and played golf till age 95. He was a Fire Commissioner for Parma for 30 years. He was a member and served on the boards of the Genesee Valley Milk Co-op and Upstate Milk Co-op, as well as the Monroe County Co-op Insurance and the Monroe County Draft Board. Some of the events he enjoyed were following his boys playing sports, playing cards, fishing, golfing, traveling, spending time with friends and spending over 30 winters in Nokomis, Florida. 

Family and friends are invited to attend George's Funeral Mass on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 9:30 am at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 N Greece Rd, Rochester, NY 14626. A Private Interment will be held in St. John's Cemetery in Spencerport.
