Roger and Bonnie and Families,
I am sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I remember Jerry since 1952 when my family lived on Hazen Street with my Grandparents until they saved enough to purchase a home on Heinz Street. I remember walking with my Mom down towards the Hilton Mill and she would stop to talk to your Dad who was in the yard working his garden. Roger and Jerry were there, and I started talking to Roger. I knew that Jerry was older than I was, but at that age, I didn't know Roger was going to be one of my classmates back then. Jerry always made it a point, whenever he saw me, he would stop and talk with me. That made me feel good, as I got older, Jerry would still take time to talk with me. I always considered him to be a friend of mine. These last 5 years I haven't seen him, much as my health isn't what it used to be either. I am glad that I had gotten to know him.
I found this poem that helped me when my wife Carol passed, it gave me some comfort in my sad times, I hope it will help you too.
Those we love don't go away,
they walk beside us everyday.
Unseen, unheard but always near,
still loved, still missed and very dear.
Hoping it will ease your sorrow to know that so many are thinking of you and caring about you at this difficult time,
Dick Howie
